County recognizes newspaper deliveryman who saved man from burning home

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A newspaper deliveryman who saved a person from their burning home was honored Tuesday.

Ronnell Hudson reluctantly took center stage at the Board of Orange County Commissioners meeting, where Mayor Teresa Jacobs presented him with the Mayor's Hero Award.

Hudson said he was just doing his job that day last November when he raced to the door of a burning house and pulled a man to safety.

"It was like a job to me. It wasn't nothing like a hero thing going on. It was just, (it) seemed like, at the time, something I was supposed to do," said Hudson

Hudson saved the man from a house fire while on his early morning delivery route.

After pulling the man to safety, Hudson went to finish his route.
