COVID vaccination site at Orlando International Airport closed

ORLANDO, Fla. — The COVID-19 vaccination site at Orlando International Airport has closed.

The airport issued the update via twitter Tuesday evening, apologizing for the short notice of the closure.

The announcement comes as coronavirus cases have started to rise again both locally and nation-wide.

Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings has called on residents to resume wearing masks in crowded, indoor places as cases continue to climb.

According to a recent White House COVID briefing, most of the new cases being reported are among the unvaccinated.

Orange County officials reported 730 new cases on Friday, 651 on Saturday and 570 on Sunday, all of which were in people who were not vaccinated.
