The nonprofit said that it will be euthanizing dogs that meet these parameters.

Just this morning, it explained that it has been facing a major issue within the shelter — overpopulation.

It said it has taken up to 500 animals each month.

The board of trustees met to discuss the issues the nonprofit is currently facing.

“There are more dogs coming in than going out,” the board said. “We are also facing contractual and legal hurdles which are further complicating our ability to strike a balance between dog intake and dog adoption.”

They are urging the community to help by adopting or fostering a dog during these trying times.

All adoption fees will be waived, they said.
