Daytona Beach woman arrested after calling 911 8 times

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Police arrested a woman who repeatedly called 911 to report a burglary at her home.

Daytona Beach police said Dedra Jones, 43, called dispatchers to report that her home had been broken into this week. But when police didn't arrive quickly enough for her, she called again. And again.

Jones faces charges of abusing the 911 system.

Records show Jones told dispatchers she knew who took her stuff, that she was going to the suspect's house and that she needed to talk to a supervisor.

The dispatcher told her after the seventh call that she'd be arrested if she kept calling 911.

An arriving officer said she ignored him because she was calling 911 for an eighth time. That's when Jones was arrested.
