Animal carcasses, organs dumped in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A viewer contacted Eyewitness News after animal carcasses were found near a neighborhood on Dean and Curry Ford roads near a Fifth Third Bank.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed it has opened an investigation aimed at catching whoever dumped the dead animals.

Eyewitness News followed a trail behind the abandoned bank and found a pile of dead goats.%

"My dog caught wind of it and dragged us over there. And of course we were shocked when we found out what we saw,” said resident Scott Woldman.

Woldman told Eyewitness News no one from the county has stopped by to clean up the mess.

"It was a health and safety issue. I mean, that was clearly evident,” said Woldman.

Another resident, Ryan Matthews was driving in the area and noticed something was wrong.

"I got real close and I could see just thousands of flies and I knew it was something way worse,” said Matthews.

Late Friday, deputies looked through a pile behind the bank, hoping to find some evidence of who dumped the animals.
