Deland to host free tree giveaway for city residents

DELAND, Fla. — The City of Deland and DeLand Breakfast Rotary Club invite residents to participate in their annual tree giveaway on April 16.

The giveaway is limited to residents within the DeLand Utility Service Area and limited to three trees per residence.

Anyone wanting a free tree is asked to bring proof of residence and a completed tree selection form to the Public Services complex at 1102 South Garfield Avenue starting at 8 a.m.

Types of trees available include Live Oak, Loquat, Persimmon, Sand Pine, Wild Olive, Winged Elm and Yaupon Holly, and are limited to three trees per residence.
