DeLAND, Fla. — DeLand Police Department is alerting its residents of phishing after two phone scams last weekend.
In one incident, a person represented himself to be an FBI agent and made threats to arrest the victim and seize their property if they did not release personal information.

In the second incident, the caller told the victim he could receive free grant money but needed to wire $300 in Google gift cards to pay for the processing fees.
Police said if you receive a similar call, hang up and do not release private, personal information to strangers on the phone.
