VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County deputies returned to an abandoned well in Glenwood Wednesday to search for clues in a nearly 40-year-old murder investigation.
James Aslinger's body was found at a home in DeBary on Benson Junction Road in 1974, but his killer remains at large.
Detectives are continuing a search for new evidence that began in May.
Officials said Aslinger's body showed signs of trauma.
Detectives will not say what exactly it is that they are looking for in the well in DeLand.
It is the second time they have searched the well for the evidence that they believe was thrown away.
