Delta 4 rocket launch scrubbed due to weather

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — The rainy weather forced scientists to scrub the launch of a Delta 4 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

The launch team was unable to send up weather balloons to measure high-altitude winds due to lightning, according to SpaceFlightnow.com.

The rocket is expected to carry a new generation Global Positioning System satellite into orbit.

The launch team will try again Friday night at 8:03.
