Deputies: Man shot ex-girlfriend during altercation in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies said they are looking for a man who tried to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Authorities said the couple met to talk early Thursday morning on 28th Street and that was when her ex-boyfriend shot her.

Deputies said the woman was able to drive herself to a family member's house. That family member drove the woman to the hospital in stable condition.

"The way he fired and where he hit her tells us it's attempted murder and we want to find him," said Lt. Paul Hopkins of Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said they have not found the shooter.

The names of those involved were not released.
