Deputies offer $5K reward for information about body found in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A $5,000 reward is being offered for information about a woman whose severely decomposed body was found last week in an empty condominium, the Orange County Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

Two men discovered the body on Aug. 8 on the floor of a unit they own at the Tymber Skan condominium complex, Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Jane Watrel said.

The men hadn't visited the condo in about one year, Watrel said.

"We are at a loss right now as to the identity of the deceased," she said.

Investigators believe the woman was African American between age 20 and 40.

Watch Thursday's news conference below:

Deputies said she had her tongue pierced, and she was wearing a silver ring on her left finger.

"We've talked to people in Tymber Skan, and they have talked to us," Orange County Detective Brian Savelli said during a news conference Thursday. "They have been cooperating. But, at this point, we just don't know who she is."

The manner and the cause of death remain unknown due to the state of decompensation.

No other details were given.

Anyone who might know the woman's identity or how she died is asked to call Crimeline at 407-423-8477.

A tip that leads to an arrest could qualify for a reward of up to $5,000, an amount typically offered in homicide cases.
