Documents outline night of Orange Co. deputy's killing

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — New documents are revealing more details about the night Orange County Deputy Jonathan Scott Pine was gunned down.

Investigators said Benjamin Holtermann was breaking into homes in the Windermere area in early February.

When Pine confronted Holtermann, Holtermann and his girlfriend, Erica Pugh, split up, but still communicated through text messages.

Investigators said Holtermann shot Pine in the chest, then turned the gun on himself.

Pugh was arrested, and is still in jail on robbery and burglary charges.

A grand jury could soon decide to charge her with murder.
