Family continues search for missing 80-year-old Melbourne man

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The friends and family of a missing elderly man are back out searching for him for a third day.

Robert Harrison, 80, disappeared from his West Melbourne home Sunday night.  Family members said Harrison suffers from dementia, and his family believes he walked off.

They told Channel 9 reporter Melonie Holt that with no food, water and blood pressure medication, the situation grows more serious by the hour.

Wednesday morning family members were on all-terrain vehicles searching for Harrison.

Family members said he left his Milwaukee Avenue home without his glasses, shoes or medication.

Harrison's family said they can't give up hope of finding him.

"They gave us permission to get ATVs, horses and anybody on the ground who wants to re-stomp grounds we've already stomped, and we are expanding out a little further, too," said Harrison's daughter-in-law, Bonnie Harrison.

Investigators said the heat and possibility of dehydration has them concerned for Harrison's health.
