Family pleads for public's help in finding missing elderly man

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla. — Family and friends of a missing elderly man are desperate for his return, and Saturday they turned to the public to help find the 80-year-old.

Robert Harrison’s family has posted hundreds of fliers across Brevard County and has performed dozens of searches.

“We’re here today asking, pleading for you to help us,” said Robert Harrison’s daughter, Christy Lathero.

Robert Harrison suffers from dementia and high blood pressure, and needs his medicine.

“If you’re watching this please keep your eyes open. We don’t know where he might be,” Lathero said during a news conference Saturday.

Eyewitness News has been following the story since Robert Harrison walked away from his West Melbourne home on May 25.

“Please look in your boats, your campers, your outdoor buildings.” Lathero said.

The family said they believe Robert Harrison is no longer in the area after learning of a possible sighing in St. Cloud.

“We just want to bring him home. We go to bed every night saying, ‘Tomorrow will be the day,’ and we pray it will be,” Lathero said.

Robert Harrison Jr. made a direct appeal to his missing dad.

“We’re looking for you. You need to come back home,” he said.

Anyone with information about the elder Robert Harrison’s whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office.
