• Family's SUV full of gifts stolen, set on fire

ORLANDO, Fla. - Police said they are searching for the thieves who stole an Orlando family's SUV full of Christmas gifts, and then set it on fire.

The family told police they were having dinner at Kobe steakhouse on Kirkman Road when someone stole their Chevy Tahoe SUV.

Jennifer Latioilais told WFTV, "I thought it was a joke at first, and then realized, no in fact our car was gone."

Latioilais said she was shocked to find thieves had stolen her family's SUV that was filled with Christmas gifts she'd purchased while out with her husband and three young children.

"Had different toys and stuff for the kids. There was a lot of gift cards more than anything," said Latiolais.

Orlando police said they found the SUV in a field near Orange Blossom Trail and it had been set on fire.

"It was found 100 percent burned. Everything inside was gone," said Latioilais.

The family was renting a car for the holidays, and while the items are a loss to them, Latioilais said what her children had to see is what concerns her and her husband.

"They unfortunately got to see the evil side of the world when they realized the car wasn't here," she said. "It's just sad.  I’ll pray for them."
