Driver killed after hitting power pole in Ormond Beach

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — A driver was killed in a crash on I-95 in Volusia County Friday, according to troopers.

The single-vehicle crash happened just south of the US-1 exit in Ormond Beach, when officials said the driver drifted off the road and hit a power pole.

Troopers said the car burst into flames and the driver was burned beyond recognition.

Officials said they will not release the driver's name until positive identification has been made.

The crash remains under investigation.
