Troopers investigate fatal crash on Turnpike in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that happened Saturday evening in south Osceola County.

The crash happened on the Turnpike around 7 p.m. and it involved a van carrying 19 passengers, according to troopers.

FHP said the van sustained a tire separation while traveling northbound and rolled several times.

A 46-year-old female passenger was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene, troopers said. The driver, 42-year-old Willem Camille, was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

All of the other passengers were taken to area hospitals with various injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the crash remains under investigation.
