VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Grady Edmondson, Jr., 34, was shot in the chest and taken to the hospital Tuesday morning, Volusia County deputies said.
The father, Grady Edmondson, 58, is in custody.
Deputies said the two got into an argument about the victim's mother at a home in the 1800 block of Holly Boulevard in DeLand.

During questioning, Grady Edmondson confessed to shooting his son from a distance of about five feet with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun after the two chest bumped during the argument, deputies said.
The victim is in critical condition.
Investigators said there was nothing in the circumstances or statements to classify the shooting as justifiable use of deadly force.
Edmondson has been charged with aggravated battery.
