FDOT proposes construction of new rest stop along I-4 corridor

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation is in the process of evaluating potential truck stops along the Interstate 4 corridor.

FDOT said they are looking at plans to build stops along the approximately 74.71-mile stretch from  Volusia to Osceola counties.

On Tuesday, Seminole commissioners tabled a resolution on the proposal to back the proposed plan to allow the county more time before bringing the item to a vote.

FDOT has scheduled public meetings in Orange, Osceola and Volusia counties for April.

Construction on the new rest stop could begin as early as 2026.
