OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers said two people were killed when an SUV crashed into a tree and burst into flames in Osceola County Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened just after 3:30 p.m. at Doverplum Avenue and Cypress Parkway in Poinciana.
FHP officials said the vehicle involved crashed into a tree before catching fire. Witnesses reported that the occupants were trapped inside the vehicle.
"I was coming from work and I take my normal walks, and I go, 'What is this in my neighborhood?' And it's really sad," said witness Francis Hernandez.
Both the driver and a passenger were killed, according to a spokeswoman.
Investigators have not said what caused the driver to veer off the road.
The names of the two victims were not released.
