FHP: Pedestrian hit, killed in crosswalk in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a Michigan Man on Friday in Daytona Beach.

Troopers said the crash happened on Friday around 9 p.m. near the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard and Roosevelt Boulevard.

Troopers said the 65-year-old man was walking eastbound in the outside lane of ISB when he crossed directly into the path of a Volkswagen Beetle.

The victim was not in a marked crosswalk when he was hit and killed.

The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and the passenger remained at the scene.
