• Fire destroys Orange County home

ORLANDO, Fla. - An Orange County family barely escaped the flames as a fire tore through and destroyed their home late Thursday night.

Firefighters said the flames were shooting through the roof when they arrived at a home on Nansen Avenue just after 11p.m., close to State Road 50.

Fire investigators said they think the blaze started on the back porch and spread to the rest of the house.

"I sort of freaked out," one neighbor told Channel 9. "(They) had fire trucks on the entire street."

Investigators will return to the home Friday to try to find out what started the fire.
