Fla. Congressman calls Gov. Rick Scott's voter suppression efforts 'superficial ploy'

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Florida congressman had some harsh words for Gov. Rick Scott Monday.

The governor had kicked off another effort to remove non-citizens from the state's voting rolls.

Rep. Alan Grayson said the effort is a "superficial ploy" to prevent Hispanics and African-Americans from voting.

Grayson also said the timing of the voter purge is insulting because it is Hispanic heritage month.
