Florida reports 6,834 COVID-19 cases, 35 virus-related deaths Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 6,834 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

This is more than the 6,323 reported Saturday and less than the 7,296 added Friday.

Of the new cases reported, 1,446 were in Central Florida.

State records show 2,168,901 cases have been reported in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

State health officials also reported 35 virus-related deaths on Sunday.

Of the new deaths reported, three were in Central Florida, including two in Brevard County and one in Volusia County.

Records show 35,109 COVID-19-related deaths have been reported in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

COVID-19 vaccination efforts also continue across the state.

Records show 8,016,441 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in Florida.

Including single and multi-dose vaccines, 12,569,859 shots have been administered in the state.
