Florida reports 6,906 new COVID-19 cases, 46 virus-related deaths on Saturday

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 6,906 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.

This is a decrease from the 7,121 cases reported Friday and the 7,939 added Thursday.

Of the new cases reported, 1,549 were in Central Florida.

State records show 2,118,713 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

State health officials also reported 46 new virus-related deaths on Saturday.

Of the deaths reported, 14 were in Central Florida.

Polk County reported the most deaths with four, and Orange and Brevard counties both added three deaths.

State records show a total of 34,672 people have died from COVID-19 complications in Florida.

COVID-19 vaccinations efforts also continue across the state.

Records show 7,103,884 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine in the state.

Including first and second doses, 10,993,678 vaccine shots have been administered in Florida.
