ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported more than 4,400 new COVID-19 cases Saturday.
Since the pandemic began, the state reported 776,251 cases of the virus. Health officials reported a total of 4,471 new COVID-19 cases since Friday.
Of the new cases, 993 were reported in Central Florida counties.

Health officials reported 76 coronavirus-related deaths in the state Saturday. Thirty of the 33 deaths were reported in Central Florida.
According to the latest data released by the state, the number of COVID-19-related deaths of residents and nonresidents now stands at 16,620.
In the most recent data, Brevard, Lake and Marion counties reported a negative number of deaths. It is not clear why the reported deaths were taken out of the data.
