ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported an additional 5,937 coronavirus cases on Tuesday after state health officials paused new case updates over Memorial Day weekend.
Before Tuesday, the last time state health officials updated its case numbers was on Friday, when the state reported 2,338 new cases.

Tuesday’s numbers bring the total number of cases reported in the state since the pandemic began to 2,326,755.
The state also reported an additional 97 deaths between Friday and Tuesday.

The deaths bring Florida’s virus-related death toll to 37,609.
Polk County reported the largest increase in deaths, with 13.
