Florida tourism officials said 2022 visitation numbers highest in state history

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida had record visitation in 2022.

VISIT FLORIDA estimates that Florida welcomed over 137 million visitors in 2022, a 5% increase from 2019 and 12% over 2021.

Tourism officials said in 2022, Florida welcomed 33.2 million travelers between October and December, a 6% increase from 2021.

VISIT FLORIDA President Dana Young said they couldn’t be more excited with the continued increase in visitors.

“Quarter after quarter, Florida continues to dominate the travel market and our competition, which could not be achieved without the hard work of our local tourism partners,” Young said.

According to VISIT FLORIDA  air travelers accounted for 38% percent of visitors, compared to 41% percent in 2019 with 7 million overseas travelers visiting the Sunshine State in 2022.
