Police search for naked burglar who traumatized teen in Longwood

LONGWOOD, Fla. — Longwood police are asking for help in identifying man they said was naked when he broke into a home and approached a teenager.

According to police, 17-year-old Ashley Holt told police she was awoken by a light in the hallway of her home July 1 at about 3:44 a.m.

They said he broke into the home through a window.

Ashley Holt said when she looked into the hallway she saw a heavyset naked white man walking toward her.

“He just looked at me, we made eye contact, and then he walked away, like it was nothing,” she said.

Ashley Holt told WFTV she cannot get the image of the man out of her head.

“I was just panicking, I was traumatized. I think about it every day,” she said.

Ashley Holt’s mom said the two of them have been sleeping in their living room since the incident.

“It’s just a terrifying thing. It’s ruined my daughter’s life. She will be having dreams about this, nightmares about this,” Catherine Holt said.

Investigators said they waited two weeks to release a composite sketch of the suspect because they were bust with the investigation and ultimately needed the public’s help to identify the suspect.

The Holts said they were surprised the story wasn’t released sooner so the public could keep an eye out for the suspect.

Police said the man was 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and balding.

Ashley Holt said the man appeared to be 40 to 50 years old.

Police released a composite sketch and ask that anyone who knows who the man is to call Investigator Arciola at 407-260-3400
