House fire in Kissimmee uncovers marijuana grow operation

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Crews responding to a fire at a home in Osceola County saw flames shooting from the outside of the home, but it's what inside that has police looking for the residents.

Osceola County Fire Rescue arrived at the home on Berkeley Drive in Kissimmee and quickly extinguished the flames.

No one was home at the time, but crews saw two 6-foot marijuana plants in plain view, numerous empty containers and an advanced electrical wiring system.

Osceola County Investigative Bureau agents are investigating the alleged grow house and are attempting to identify the residents who were leasing the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
