Human remains found at Ray Wayside Park, deputies say.

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A Marion County park is closed until further notice after human remains were found, deputies said.

An off-duty Marion County deputy was flagged down around 1 p.m. Sunday at Ray Wayside Park at 9564 NE 28th Lane in Silver Springs after human remains were found near the Ocala Boat Basin, investigators said.

Ray Wayside Park has been closed until further notice while deputies investigate the remains.

"We are using a sifting machine in the area where we found the remains to find any additional evidence, any additional remains that we could recover," Lauren Lettelier, with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, said.
