OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The chairman of the Osceola County School Board has withdrawn a plan to get taxpayers to pay the tab anytime a board member faces a legal issue.

Chairman Jay Wheeler introduced a proposal to use tax money to pay for legal fees stemming from ethics complaints or lawsuits.

Many residents didn't like the idea and the chairman took it off the table Friday.
