Lockdown lifted at Jones High after nearby police search

ORLANDO, Fla. — Jones High School in Orlando was placed on lockdown because of police activity in the area as school was about to end Friday afternoon.

School was scheduled to end at 2:30 p.m. but police said no one was allowed to leave while the campus was on lockdown.

Around 2:45 p.m. school officials lifted the lockdown.

Police have not said why officers were searching in the area.
