Jury awards Orlando woman $89,000 in police brutality case

ORLANDO, Fla. — A federal jury sided with an Orlando woman in a police brutality case and awarded her $89,000 Thursday afternoon.

Ana Maria Hazleton said Orlando Police Officer Brandon Loverde and other officers violated her civil rights on Mother's Day in 2007 when they falsely arrested her and pepper-sprayed her.

The jury agreed.
