Kissimmee woman fights to keep sick, injured dogs

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A Kissimmee woman who runs a nonprofit dog rescue out of her home is fighting to keep the dogs after she received a letter saying she could only have five.

Many of the dogs that Sandy Robinson cares for in her Yorkie Friends Rescue Group are sick and injured.

A neighbor complained about the dogs, and now Robinson said she hopes the city will make an exception for her non-profit.

"I'm not a hoarder. I'm not a breeder. We don't let them go out until they're spayed or neutered. And, they don't have any place else to go," said Robinson.

Neighbors WFTV spoke with said they didn't even know Robinson had a nonprofit.

Robinson went before the Kissimmee City Commission last week, but no decision was made.

She's expected to meet with leaders again next month.
