LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — One man is dead after officials with the Florida Highway Patrol said he was struck by a vehicle while he was standing in traffic lanes Tuesday morning.
Troopers said it happened in the area of County Road 44 and Apiary Road around 4:20 a.m.
Early investigation showed a vehicle was traveling eastbound on CR 44 before striking the man, according to troopers.
It is not known why the man was standing in the roadway.
The driver in the incident was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
