Lake County School District back to school plan offers three options for students, parents

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — The Lake County School District said it has a plan for going back to school.

The district is offering parents and students three options: traditional classes, virtual classes and a mixture of traditional and virtual classes.

Leaders said getting kids back to school and keeping them safe is the top priority.

They explained their options and what precautions they will take if a student or teacher tests positive for coronavirus.

“We would definitely follow the Department of Health and CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines which could mean shutting down a school temporarily. If that happens, the good news is that all of our students will have their Chromebook devices issued by the district and instruction could continue at home for those students who are asked to stay home for a period of time,” a leader said.
