LEESBURG, Fla. — The Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida in Leesburg is about to get bigger and better.
Officials will hold a grand opening event at 10 a.m. Wednesday for the new addition to the recreation center at 1851 Griffin Road.

The Leesburg branch and teen center club will triple its capacity from 50 to 150 children served daily.
Officials said the $2.75 million addition to the Leesburg center is 10,045 square feet, and is a collaboration between Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida and the City of Leesburg.

The Club comprises 10 multi-purpose rooms, a career room, a sound studio, a game area, as well as a life skills and learning center.
Part of the new addition includes an outdoor area for youth and a separate outdoor area for teens.

Since 1944, Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida has provided at-risk children, ages 6-18, with a safe place to learn and grow during non-school hours, officials said.
