Deputies: Lakeland man jailed after hitting brother with pot plants

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A Lakeland man was arrested on several charges, including domestic battery, after hitting his brother with some marijuana plants, according to Polk County Sheriff's investigators.

Investigators said deputies were called to the home of brothers Rodney and Jackie Brown after reports of a domestic disturbance Saturday evening.

According to deputies, Jackie Brown, 33, said he and his brother were arguing when Rodney Brown, 31, struck him with "a plant from the yard."

Rodney Brown allowed deputies to search they property where they said they found 10 marijuana plants outside and drug paraphernalia inside.

According to deputies, Jackie Brown said during the argument his brother uprooted several cannabis plants and intentionally hit him in the face with them.

Rodney Brown was booked into the Polk County jail on charges of domestic battery, cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana over 20 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has since bonded out of jail, according to investigators.
