Landscapers find 10-foot python at water treatment plant

MARCO ISLAND, Fla. — Some South Florida landscapers were surprised to find a Burmese python while working.

WFTV found out it took three men to capture the snake.

The landscapers said they found the more than 10-foot-long python coiled up inside a valve cover box at a water treatment plant, just south of Naples.

Florida Fish and Wildlife officials said they will euthanize and autopsy the snake for research.
