Legal bump stocks allowed Las Vegas shooter to quickly fire hundreds of rounds, expert says

Officials in Las Vegas released information Tuesday night about some of the items found in Stephen Paddock’s hotel room, including devices that were likely used to allow him to quickly fire off hundreds of rounds.
Authorities reported finding 12 bump stocks in the room, which can be used to basically convert a semi-automatic weapon to an automatic one.
Gun expert Junior Joseph said the stocks have only been around since 2010 and are completely legal.
They were originally developed to allow people with disabilities to fire a gun more easily.
Critics of the bump stocks say they can be used to sidestep federal restrictions on automatic rifles.
