“I’m just looking for opportunities,” Carlon Miller said.

The unemployment rate in Central Florida is 2.9%. Though it is below the national average of 3.2%, there are still pockets of the population struggling to land and keep a job because of hardships caused by the pandemic.

“We wanted to try to eliminate as many barriers as we possibly could for individuals seeking employment today,” said Cliff Marvin, with CareerSource Central Florida.

Miller was optimistic he’ll land a job.

“I’ve been working in customer service for well over 10 years now so definitely have the experience,” he said.
