Man, 18, fighting for life after shooting in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. — An 18-year-old is fighting for his life after a shooting in Orlando, and police said they are searching for the gunman.

Thursday night, police responded to a shooting near Anderson Street and West Moreland Drive.

Police said they found the victim a few blocks from the shooting scene.

A witness, who did not want to be identified, told WFTV it sounded like fireworks were going off.

"It was five to six gunshots I can recall hearing. It was 10 to 15 teenagers running across the yard. From my understanding, the kid that got shot was in the group running across the yard," said the witness.

The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
