Man allegedly pinched undercover deputy, asked for sex act in park

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A 52-year-old Wauchula man is accused of exposing himself and asking an undercover deputy for a sex act in a Polk County park on Thursday.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said undercover deputies conducted an investigation targeting people soliciting lewd acts at Mosaic Peace River Park in Homeland.

According to authorities, Kevin Smith, 52, was seen exposing himself inside the park. Smith then allegedly approached an undercover deputy, pinched him inappropriately and asked for a sex act.

Smith was taken into custody and deputies said they did a search of his vehicle, where a sheriff's badge, knives, and leather clothing and accessories were found. Authorities said he told them he purchsed the badge at a flea market.

Smith was booked in the Polk County Jail and charged with offering to commit lewdness and battery. He has since been released after posting $750 bond.
