Man allegedly threatens school children with pellet gun, toy handcuffs

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A man was arrested on charges of threatening children with a pellet gun and toy handcuffs at a Holly Hill school, authorities said.

Police said Eric Dukes, 22, told them his bike was stolen from his home and was questioning the children about whether they knew where it was.

The children told police Dukes claimed to be an undercover officer and told them not to lie to him.

Police said Dukes admitted to carrying the pellet gun to intimidate the children.

According to the Volusia County Department of Corrections website, Dukes is no longer in custody.
