Man arrested on charges he stalked girl, 14, in Volusia County

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Volusia County man was arrested on charges he stalked 14-year-old girl.

The victim, who was only identified as Alyssa, said that Tarrence Green, 30, stalked her in her neighborhood.

“When I would tell him I wouldn’t want to talk to him, he would keep following me, and get closer to me, and try to get me to stay there,” she said. “So I was like, 'I need to tell my parents before he gets me in the car alone.'”

About a month ago, Alyssa said Green followed her and a group of friends into a McDonald's.

When they left, she said he followed in his car and tried to get her to get inside.

She refused and he drove away.

A week later, the victim said she and her sister were walking down her street when the suspect rode up on a scooter.

“He was like, yelling my name from the other street. He was like, 'Alyssa come here,'" Alyssa said.

She said he kept asking her to approach him and she ran off.

Alyssa said Thursday he approached her again, while she was walking from school.

She then ran home and called her mother, who called deputies.

Deputies spotted his car a short time later and tried to pull him over.

Investigators said Green took off, but they eventually spotted him and he was arrested.

Deputies said once in the patrol car, the suspect had to be put in restraints because he was banging his head and telling them he wanted to die.
