Man charged with distributing child porn released from jail

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County man accused of distributing child porn to hundreds of people over the Internet was released from jail Friday while he awaits trial.

Craig O'Connell was turned over to his mother. She told the judge Friday that she'd be his custodian.

Prosecutors said he was distributing child porn videos to more than 400 people.

The videos, depicting young girls being sexually abused by adult men, were sent out using peer-to-peer file sharing software, according to prosecutors.

O'Connell isn't allowed to use the Internet or be alone with children while awaiting trial.
