APOPKA, Fla. — Orange County deputies are investigating after a man was found shot and lying on the ground near an intersection and subsequently died.

At about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies said they found a 26-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound at East G.H. Washington Street and South Central Avenue in Apopka.
Firefighters tried to provide aid to the man but he later died at the scene.

Investigators said the man was injured in a nearby neighborhood.
The investigation is ongoing.
