Man hit, killed crossing Orange County road

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a man trying to cross a busy street in Orange County.

Troopers said the victim was crossing Semoran Boulevard near Hanging Moss Road just before 11 p.m. Thursday when one car hit him and then a second car ran over him.

The father of the second driver, Dennis Davila, rushed to the crash scene.

"He was driving. He saw a car that swerved off, and when the car swerved off, he realized that the car jumped up, and he put on the brakes and he came back, and when he came back, he realized there was a person hit," said Davila.

Troopers said the victim was in a crosswalk, but didn't have the signal to cross at that point.

The intersection was closed for hours, while troopers investigated the crash.

The two drivers are not expected to face any charges.

The victim's name was not released.
