Man jailed, accused of sexually assaulting Brevard teen

COCOA, Fla. — A South Florida man is in jail, accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in Cocoa.

Investigators said Nicolas Witter, 29, attacked the girl in a house full of people.

Police said there was a birthday party earlier in the evening and the teenage girl willingly went into a room with the Witter. But, investigators don't believe she was a willing participant in anything else.

Cocoa police were called to the home on Myrtle Lane over the weekend after a night of celebration deteriorated into a public disturbance.

"He called the girl back into the bedroom. She went willingly but certainly never thought this was something that was going to happen," said Barbara Mathews of the Cocoa Police Department.

Police said the girl was pinned to the floor and sexually assaulted. Investigators said the assault ended when people began knocking on the locked bedroom door.

"The argument and the fight went outside as family members realized what happened," said Mathews.

Investigators said Witter denied having sex with the girl.  He's being held in the Brevard County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Channel 9's Melonie Holt checked and could find no arrest history for Witter in Florida.

He'll be arraigned on a charge of sexual battery next month.
